Jirkov refuses to screen The Da Vinci Code

Litvinov/Jirkov, North Bohemia, May 24 (CTK) - The operator of the cinema in Jirkov, Milos Kubelka, will not screen the U.S. film The Da Vinci Code that fills cinema coffers, joining the critics of the hit from among the Catholic Church, Deniky Bohemia daily writes today. "I have been a believer since about 30 and I think this film undermines the values on which our democracy is based," Kubelka explained his decision. Jirkov inhabitants who will want to see the story featuring Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou will have to go to the neighbouring Chomutov, the paper writes. [More]
