Stars shrug off 'Da Vinci Code' reviews
The Da Vinci Code has shaken off a slew of bad reviews to provide a star-studded opening movie for the 59th Cannes Film Festival. Director Ron Howard and leading actors Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou were all smiles as they paraded up the red carpet before the festival's opening ceremony. Fellow stars Ian McKellen, Jean Reno, Alfred Molina and Paul Bettany also took to the carpet, as did author Dan Brown. Brown's novel has taken the world by storm, selling some 50 million copies and being translated into 44 languages since it was first published in 2003. [More]
