Storm around 'Da Vinci' won't keep fans away

Tom Hanks may have two Oscars and Ron Howard on speed-dial, but Dan Brown is the name that's luring Minnesota moviegoers to see "The Da Vinci Code." The movie, which opens Friday with Hanks in the lead role, is based on Brown's controversial novel about a Harvard professor investigating a murder at the Louvre. Clues left at the crime scene lead to a conspiracy to cover up the origins of Christianity, a conspiracy that involves centuries of murders and lies by the Roman Catholic Church.
