The Da Vinci Code? It's all academic now

Hailed as a gripping page-turner and derided in turn as trashy fiction based on mumbo-jumbo, The Da Vinci Code is now to become the subject of a course at Trinity College Dublin. In a move sure to delight many fans, a series of evening classes will explore the novel's claim that Jesus Christ fathered a child. Academics behind the course, which will begin in January, hope that participants will come away with a better appreciation of the use and spread of Christianity, minus the fictional elements of the book.
