Publishers aim for 'Da Vinci ' success with wannabe titles
With more than 7 million copies in print and a buzz that won't stop, Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code is the king of the blockbusters, a book so big, it has yet to come out in paperback after two years in print. No wonder publishers are scrambling to find heirs to the throne. This summer, at least four books look to be direct knockoffs of the Da Vinci formula, (although one, The Historian, has been in the works long before Da Vinci hit it big).
